Tucked in the folds of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range, the valley of Orient is still as mystical and fertile as it has always been. Its forests, its orchards, it fresh country air and, above all, its peaceful tranquillity surprise its visitors with the captivating charm of unspoilt nature. Tranquillity has its home in Dalt Muntanya.
Orient is a small village in the municipality of Bunyola, situated in the centre of the valley of the same name. Surrounded by mountains it is part of one of the most fertile areas of Mallorca, between the Serra d'Alfabia and the Puig d'Alaró. The peace, the stone houses and the stepped streets are its principal characteristics.
On the highest point of the village, 450 metres high, is the parish church of Sant Jordi (Saint George) built in the XVIII century on the ancient chapel of the XIII century. In the lowest part, some singular public wash troughs are preserved. In the outskirts the houses of Cals Reis and Son Terrassa are the most outstanding.
